About the Role
During a typical day as an IT Consultant at ALT Consulting, you'll be working directly with law firm clients to understand their technology needs and provide guidance on how to solve their most pressing IT challenges. You'll assess existing environments, recommend improvements, and work with our technical teams to implement solutions that help firms run more smoothly.
You'll serve as a trusted technology advisor to firm owners and operations leaders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations. Our clients rely on your expertise to help them make sound decisions about their technology investments.

Workstation and Office Setup
You will be well equipped to handle your role with your own advanced technology setup. When working from the office, you'll be in your own private workspace, which includes an immersive 40-inch 4K monitor, a MacBook Pro, quality peripherals, and an ergonomic desk and chair.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain client IT infrastructure across multiple law firm accounts
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client technology decisions and escalations
- Conduct technology assessments and produce clear, written findings
- Design and implement solutions across networking, cloud, and endpoint environments
- Administer Microsoft 365 and related services for client accounts
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers on behalf of clients
- Document client environments, changes, and procedures
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior technical staff
- Identify opportunities to improve client environments and propose solutions proactively
About You
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, consulting, or a related role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows and macOS environments
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Considered an Asset
- Experience with legal technology such as Clio, NetDocuments, or iManage
- Microsoft certifications or CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
- Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
- Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools such as ConnectWise or Datto
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and frameworks
- Experience with network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and VLANs
